Anyone with even a passing interest in fantasy fiction will know of J.R.R. Tolkien’s work. The award-winning The Lord of the Rings films and the tomes they were based on have amassed an army of adoring fans, and rightly so. Tolkien has built a richly detailed fantasy world full of hobbits, dwarves, orcs and …

A sad fact about videogame soundtracks is that, unlike their movie counterparts, they are often under-appreciated. It’s a shame because they take just as much skill and craftsmanship to compose and they’re perhaps more integral to the whole experience than that of a film score.
Due to the interactivity of videogames, it requires a unique skill to craft a soundscape that adapts to the players’ agency. One such composer that has this skill in spades is Jason Graves.Continue reading
Whether or not you consider Die Hard to be a Christmas film (it is, by the way), one thing we can all agree on is that it’s a fucking good movie. When you think of Rambo, what comes to mind? I bet it’s something like the image above – an impossibly ripped Sylvester Stallone slaughtering wave after wave of bad guys. With that in mind, you’d be surprised at how low the death toll for First Blood actually is.
So just how many died in Rambo’s first cinema outing?
Well… At least most of it, anyway.
Bethesda finally released their much-anticipated massively multiplayer online role-playing game (crikey that’s a mouthful!), The Elder Scrolls Online, back in 2014. Unfortunately it wasn’t exactly well-received, with many people criticising everything from the needlessly greedy business model to the overall performance of the game.
Thankfully, after many patches and a bevy of additional content, TESO is now the game it promised to be, but is it too late?
Over the past few days I have picked out five festive films for your perusal. They’ve definitely helped me get in the mood for Christmas, hopefully they’ve helped you too.

So that’s it from me for another year. Thanks to everyone who visited this site, I really do appreciate it.
All that’s left to say is Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have a great one, and I’ll see you in the new year.
